Adding a stiff frame fixes that, but would make the basket hard to wash. Loop yarn is soft and fluffy, so without some sort of frame, the basket wouldn’t hold it’s shape very well at all. But you don’t actually have to know how to knit in order to do it. By pulling loops through other loops with just your fingers, you can create many knitting stitches. Working with loop yarn is fun and fast, and a great introduction to knitting. This means you don’t need a needle to hold your stitches in place! It’s fuzzy and soft, so stitches don’t pull out easily on their own. Off the Hook yarn is a loop yarn, meaning that all the loops are already formed for you and held in place with a thread. I first saw this yarn earlier this year at a conference and couldn’t wait for it to become available! Lion Brand has teamed up with Crayola to make several of their yarns in bright, bold, crayon colors. Lion Brand sent me some of their new Crayola Off the Hook yarn for free to use for this design. PLEASE NOTE that there are other brands of loop yarn which come in different lengths, so if you use a different brand I don’t know how many skeins/balls it will take.Ī: I didn’t time myself exactly, but my best guess is 3-4 hours. Q: How many skeins of loop yarn does this wrap take?Ī: You will need 3 skeins of the Bernat Alize Blanket EZ brand loop yarn, which is my favorite brand of loop yarn. I made mine quite long because I wanted it to hit beneath my hips – it’s about 78 inches long. For length, just continue working it up until it’s as long as you want. You could adjust that to make it wider or narrower as you wish. I made mine 22 loops wide, which ends up being 15 inches wide. There are other brands of loop yarn, but this one is definitely my favorite.Ī: You can actually customize this wrap to make it any size you’d like. It’s pricey so I watch for sales or use a coupon.
